Where Is My Refund?

The IRS and most states have a link on their websites to look up the status of your tax refund.  When looking this up, have your tax return in front of you.

The IRS will ask for the primary taxpayer’s social security number, your filing status (single, married filing joint, married filing separately, head of household), and the refund amount.  States have similar verification processes though it does vary by state.
